our soulbrother, partner in crime and just another al haca soldier: STEREOTYP is just about to release his nu album.

Just so you know: Stefan Moerth aka Stereotyp. A New Yorker at heart, eat land drink like an Austrian, smoke like Jah peoples. Ive been in the game for years producing, remixing, and publishing music. My first break came with My Sound, a record I dropped on G-Stone (the label of the Kruders and the Dorfmeisters). Back then it was all about straight-ahead grizzly technoid soundscapes, out of control low ends, although the record was pure Soul and Dancehall. I guess it was all about updating these genres, and giving them a likkle Sci-fi future twist. I was blessed to have amazing talent on this one: Hubert Tubbs (The Tower of Power), Tikiman, DJ Collage, Cesar, and Trigga to name a few. The next dent came with the Phase III LP released on Klein records last year or so. For this one I teamed up with my family MCC of Al Haca. and we worked on bringing our future sound to the dancefloors worldwide. The record was mostly a Dancehall venture (how we do – Blade Runner style strictly), though there were some Soul and Hip Hop gems on it as well (nothing like you heard before trust me). The key talent on this one: Lady Saw, Daddy Freddy, Hawk Eye, Cesar, Spectacular, RQM, Ras B etc. And right now Im actually about to drop my newest installment this one is back on G-Stone. Till you hear it – aint no reason to discuss it. In the works the next Al Haca record featuring Dunlok Backson and all types of family Im CO producing it. gotta love it

WHO THE FUCK IS RQM?
...who the..?
copyright protected / foto by julio roelle

What you have here is a collection of heavy electronica tracks I did over
the last few years. I compiled them, mixed them together, and dubbed them
with my family Cee of Al Haca. I figured most people that heard something of
mine at some point did not get a chance to peep all of the projects I was
involved in, so I decided to select my favorites and serve them up in a
little cluster.

On the first listen the whole mixtape might feel a bit monotonous because I
chose to represent only one part of the musical spectrum, but if you let the
tracks do their magic, and listen to them closely I think all of them will
turn into individual planets. Enjoy RQM

Intro
We did this with Cee from Al Haca one night by calling our peoples and
recording them from cell phone to laptop via a built in mic. You can sort of
hear Stereotyp, Sascha of Jahcoozi, White Dress, Noel and us. In the end
it‚s just madness with the effects.

Watch Me Flip ˆ Stereotyp Meets Al Haca/Phase III (Klein)
With this one I tried to remix thugged out imagery that is so prevalent on
mainstream tracks and use it to promote something positive. I wrote it
wondering what Saul Williams would sound like if you put him thru a 50 Cent
filter. The last verse is my tribute to hip hop verse.

Nuclear Sunset ˆ The Tape Vs RQM/Autoreverse (Kitty Yo)
I got a clear picture of a nuclear sunset instantly after hearing this beat.
Initially this was going to be a Jahcoozi – The Tape collabo, but Sascha and
I just couldn‚t focus our writing and the session ended with heavy smoke.
Months later I pulled out the CD and let my paranoia leak from the pen. This
was a week heavy on news concerning nuclear weapons and things (Korea, Iran,
new missiles in Russia, upgraded nuclear technology in the States etc.).

Red Pill ˆ Atom Hockey/UNRELEASED!!!
The instrumental had that Bladerunner feeling to it ˆ that Sci-fi noir
coloring. My girl just left me, sex was on my mind – so I wrote a song about
cyborgs fucking.

Homeboy‚s Blender ˆ Jahcoozi/Pure Breed Mongrel (Kitty Yo)
My first Jahcoozi collaboration, and the first song that I co-wrote with
Sascha that actually got pressed. We re planning to record more this year ˆ
watch out!!!

Slices of Zen ˆ Stereotyp/UNRELEASED!!!
A song about applying Zen Buddhism and the 5 Ring sword technique to the
art of verbal combat. I wrote it on the first Al Haca tour. I haven‚t slept
in two days and cannabis consumption was high ˆ we were blazing from
breakfast on ˆ and I just remember Stereotyp telling me to write a battle
rhyme. Two hours later the track was done and we were in a beat up van
heading to Budapest for one of the worst shows in Al Haca History.

Earth (Stereotyp Remix) ˆ UTZ/Earth EP (Meta Polyp)
What if the only way to save this planet is to organize mass suicides? The
style of delivery on this track was completely new to me, and it didn‚t fit
into the RQM world so I adopted the Dunlok Backson alias, but I think RQM
grew up a bit since then and I expect more of this type of songwriting from
him.

Minimal ˆ The Tape VS RQM/Autoreverse (Kitty Yo)
The hook for this song was actually my response to hearing the beat for the
first time ˆ „keep it minimal‰. The concept for the lyrics ˆ keep
relationships simple. I don‚t like drama ˆ simple and plain. And by the way
this song has some of my favorite lines in it like: „the depth of it so
close to the core it almost hurts/like open heart surgery with no
anesthesia/your soft hand with a tattoo gun scribbling something on my
cardiac/wutt you writing girl?‰.

Fokus (Al Haca Remix) ˆ Tolcha/Fokus EP (Meta Polyp)
This one should actually be called „Electric Blue Skies‰, but the Tolchas
have this thing about concept songs with one word titles – so I let them run
with it. The style of writing on this track is what I call third optic
poetry. It‚s all about free association and continuously shifting images. I
realized over the last year or so that this type of writing is too abstract
for your average listener, so to a degree I‚ve discontinued this style.

who the fuck came up with the concept that the eastern part of germany is cultural wasteland? in the early 00s bomb mitte’s mobile research unit embarked on a trip through the far eastern provinces to prove the western naysayers to be bloody wrong. in the historic city of greifswald our scientists dug out an ancient soundsystem by the name of al-haca. it’s members were praying to the god of bass by mixing and secularizing hip hop, dancehall, dub and electro in an outstanding way. several years after the discovery of al-haca bomb mitte headquarters received an anonymous disc with the number 126 carved in its surface. the disc contained one track only starting with hypnotic al-haca chants soon making room for synthetic sub bass farts and the never resting rhymes of mc whizz kid rqm. this track is an unstoppable machine, the true perpetuum mobile and we simply baptized it »126« even though we ain’t got the slightest idea what it means. this is for you world!

… some songs have a story behind them that give them that special angle – and thats actually the case with earth (the real..):

The track was written and recorded deep in a forest in the little cottage Ückeritz on the island of Usedom, Northeastern Germany, where Al Haca moved their studio for a two week long recording session. This is the same session that unleashed the monstrous bass anthem 126 (soon to be out on Bomb Mitte).

On a rainy summer day as Al Haca’s MCC + RQM and Tolcha’s Rasda were sketching out a new beat, a drenched mushroom picker showed up at the door and asked if he could come inside and wait untill the rain passes. His name was Danlok Backson, a Japanese Australian 30 year old travelling thru Europe for “no particular reason” as he put it himself.

In a matter of minutes Danlok adjusted himself to the Al Haca ways and about an hour later as he was sipping on a Lübzer brew and smoking a likkle something pretty much came up with the entire earth lyrics in one freestyling outburst. All the fellas had to do now was have him record some extra doubles and then arrange the joint. Everyone agreed the track was a certified banger. The only problem was that stylistically it didn’t really fit into the spectrum of sound of either the new Al Haca or the new Tolcha records. But since this track needed to be heard they decided to call the project ÜTZ short for Ückeritz and release it on Meta Polyp records as soon as possible.

The project was sealed with a Stereotyp remix (Al-Haca’s partner in crime) – a collosal reinterpretation of the original. And as for Danlok, the only evidence of him is his vocals and an email address that doesn’t work, scribbled on a Tolcha record release flyer before he bounced.
